Where will my massage or bodywork session take place?
Your massage or bodywork session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.

Must I be completely undressed?
No, women are to be treated in a sports bra and shorts, or bathing suit.  Men are treated in shorts.  Please do NOT put any lotion on your skin the day on the treatment session. If you are receiving massage you can disregard the previous instruction, and may dress to your comfort level.

Will the practitioner be present when I disrobe?
The practitioner will leave the room while you undress, then you will just crack the door handle so the practitioner knows you are ready.

Will I be covered during the session?
You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. However, with MFR the practitioner must frequently check your body for vasomotor responses(red areas of skin) that may appear and help guide the treatment.

What will the bodywork feel like?
With JFB Myofascial Release sometimes you will feel light pressure on your body, other times it may be more of a stretching sensation.  During the bodywork you may feel things in areas other than where the practitioner is working. These feeling may be heat, vibration, pulling, etc.  Massage therapy will be a soothing touch, unless you have requested deeper tissue work.

What should I do during the bodywork session?
Relax and LET GO! Close your eyes and feel into your body allowing whatever sensation or feeling that comes up to happen.  If something is uncomfortable you can say "halt" at any time.

How will I feel after the bodywork session?
Most people feel relaxed, sometimes they have immediate relief of symptoms.  Other times clients may experience a "healing crisis".  This means your symptoms may be exacerbated or have new symptoms.  This is a short term response and nothing to concern yourself with.  However it also means that you most likely had a significant shift in your being!  .

Are there any medical conditions that would make massage or bodywork inadvisable?
Yes. That's why it's imperative that, before you begin your session, the practitioner asks general health questions.
